Language Lab Inauguration & Storytelling Competition 2026 | Department of English Studies
On 29 July 2026, the Department of English Studies proudly celebrated the successful inauguration of its Language Lab alongside an inspiring Storytelling Competition, organised by English Department Club-SUB, marking a significant milestone in fostering language learning and creative expression. The Language Lab was officially inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Md. Hassan Kawsar, the Honourable Vice-Chancellor(Acting), in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Hossain, the Registrar, Deans of different faculties, and the Chairman of the department.
Following the inauguration, students enthusiastically participated in a Listening Contest, making the very first use of the new facility and showcasing their listening skills.
The celebration continued with a vibrant Storytelling Competition, where 19 talented participants captivated the audience with their creativity, confidence, and eloquence. During the event, the Honourable Vice-Chancellor(Acting) and the Registrar appreciated the initiative and highlighted the enduring importance of storytelling as a powerful medium for communication, imagination, and human connection.
The event concluded with a prize-giving ceremony, recognizing the outstanding performers of both the Listening Contest and the Storytelling Competition.
