On 21 July 2026, the students of the Department of Food Engineering and Nutrition Science (FENS), State University of Bangladesh, successfully completed an educational hospital visit to 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 as part of the 𝐍𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐅𝐄𝐍𝐒 𝟐𝟏𝟎𝟕) course.
The visit was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Farzana Sultana Bari, Associate Professor and Chairman of the Department, and Md. Billal Hossen, Lecturer and Course Teacher.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to observe real-world clinical nutrition practices across multiple departments, including the Dietetics and Nutrition, Cardiology, Orthopedics, Nephrology, and Paediatric Departments, covering both Outpatient (OPD) and Inpatient (IPD) services.
The experience provided valuable exposure to the practical application of nutrition care in diverse clinical settings. Such hands-on learning opportunities play a vital role in bridging classroom knowledge with professional practice and preparing future nutrition professionals for evidence-based patient care.
We extend our special thanks to Ms. Shahela Akter Nasrin, Senior Clinical Dietitian, Department of Dietetics & Nutrition, United Medical College Hospital, for her invaluable support in coordinating and facilitating this educational hospital visit.
We also sincerely express our gratitude to the management and healthcare professionals of United Medical College Hospital for their warm hospitality, guidance, and generous support, which made this educational experience both successful and enriching for our students.
