Krishantha Wijesooriya is an experienced professional with a background in Chemistry, specialized in various fields such as Sugar Manufacturing, Meat Science and Dairy, and Quality Assurance. With a B.Sc. degree specialized in chemistry and several diplomas to his name, including one from the University of Peradeniya and the Sri Lanka Standards Institute, Krishantha has acquired extensive knowledge in his field. Krishantha’ s career began as a Production Superintendent at Pelwatta Sugar Industries Limited, where he demonstrated his expertise until 1998. He then joined Cargills Ceylon PLC, a renowned Sri Lankan corporation established in 1844. During his tenure, Krishantha held the position of General Manager of Manufacturing and Supply Chain, overseeing various subsidiaries and operations related to processed meat, dairy products, fruit and vegetables, and retail outlets such as Cargill's Food City. Additionally, he played a key role in getting standard certifications for franchise chains like KFC and TGI Fridays. Since 2016, Krishantha has been serving as the General Manager of Production and Supply Chain at Bengal Meat Processing Industries Limited, bringing his vast knowledge and experience to drive the company's success. With over 34 years of experience in the FMCG industry, General Manager with expertise in various areas such as manufacturing, project management, strategic planning, sales and distribution, procurement, farming, quality assurance, and general administration. His extensive skill set encompasses a wide range of manufacturing technologies, particularly in meat, processed meat, poultry, sugar processing, cattle, sheep and goat farming and processing, as well as supply chain management both locally and internationally. In addition to his technical knowledge, I have a comprehensive understanding of the business aspects of large systems. I am solution-oriented and resourceful, consistently applying state-of-the-art technology to meet the ever-increasing demands of the competitive market. He has been actively involved in various international quality standards, including ISO 22000-2018 for food safety, ISO 9001-2015, FSSC for quality management, and ISO 14001-2015 for environmental management. Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of both the external and internal landscape and Expert in leveraging refrigeration technology to drive innovation and implement energy-efficient solutions.
