BSc (Hons) and MSc in Applied Nutrition and Food Technology from Islamic University, Bangladesh

Md. Billal Hossen, a young enthusiast and aspirant, is currently working as a Lecturer in the department of Food Engineering and Technology under the School of Science and Technology, State University of Bangladesh (SUB). He completed MSc in Applied Nutrition and Food Technology (ANFT) in 2019 from Islamic University, Bangladesh. He also obtained BSc (Hons) in Applied Nutrition and Food Technology (ANFT) in 2018 from the same university. Additionally, he secured first position in MSc and second position in BSc (Hons). He was awarded NST fellowship by Ministry of Science and Technology for his MSc thesis. He is a regular column and feature writer in different English and Bengali national daily of Bangladesh. Mr. Hossen also took part in different national level idea, essay and quiz competition and won several title including Championship.

1. Awarded NST fellowship for MS research by Ministry of Science and Technology.

2. Awarded UGC grant for research for the academic year 2020-21 by UGC.

3. Awarded General Scholarship for excellent academic result in BSc (Hon’s) by Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE)

4. Awarded university Merit Scholarship for excellent academic result by Islamic University, Kushtia, Bangladesh.

5. Secured 1^st Position in Youth for Science competition 2022 organized by Bigganchinta (Prothom Alo) and Farming Future Bangladesh.

6. Champion in Idea Contest arranged by Youth Ending Hunger, Bangladesh (The Hunger Project, USA)

7. Champion in ‘Open Internet Challenge’ (senior category) in Nutrition Olympiad 2020 and 2021 consecutively.

8. Secured 3^rd position Abul Mansur Ahmed Essay Writing Competition 2020.

9. Secured 4^th position in national in a quiz competition organized by Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB).

10. Published an essay in a book entitled “Tarunner Abul Monsur Ahmed” in 2021.

11. Recognized as a Best Young Writer (among all branch of BTCLF) in a fiscal year for 2020.

12. Obtained first position in a quiz competition organized by The Daily Star.

13. Secured 2nd Position in a PowerPoint Presentation competition on the occasion of Digital Bangladesh Day 2021 organized by DC office Faridpur.
