SUB Hosts Successful Earthquake Awareness & Community Resilience Workshop
The Department of Environmental Science, SUB Environmental & Social Services Club, State University of Bangladesh in collaboration with Its Humanity Foundation (IHF), successfully organized the Earthquake Awareness & Community Resilience Workshop on 26 July 2026 at State University of Bangladesh.
We were deeply honoured by the presence of our Chief Guest, Professor Dr. Md. Akhter Hossain Khan, Honourable Vice Chancellor, State University of Bangladesh.
The programme was further enriched by our distinguished Special Guests, Md. Adnan Hossain, Founder & Executive Director, It's Humanity Foundation and Dr. Marzia Bilkiss, Chairman (Acting), Department of Environmental Science, State University of
Bangladesh.
The workshop was expertly facilitated by Dewan Nurtaj Alam, Manager, Climate Change & Health Programme, BRAC Health Programme, whose interactive sessions equipped participants with practical knowledge and essential skills in earthquake preparedness, emergency response, first aid, disaster communication, youth leadership, volunteerism and community resilience. A special highlight of the programme was the selection of five outstanding participants, who were nominated for the Advanced Disaster Preparedness Training Programme based on their performance, active engagement and understanding demonstrated throughout the workshop.
Together, we are empowering youth, strengthening community resilience and building a safer and more disaster-prepared Bangladesh.
