The Department of Food Engineering and Technology successfully completed the 2nd international E-conference on Biodegradable Packaging for Food Industries. Government representatives including the honorable secretary of the Ministry of Food, the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) delegation, and representatives from different industries such as PRAN, Nestle, Bashundhara group, AKIJ, etc, researchers and academicians from reputed institutions joined with us. The conference title was very time convenient to protect our planet from pollution by traditional packaging materials. It was an excellent knowledge-sharing day-long scientific session due to having world-leading Food Scientists as plenary speakers. I believe the said conference strengthened the Industry-Academia and private-public relationship. In addition, this conference created a link among FET-SUB, Washington State University, USA, University of Putra, Malaysia, GNU-South Korea, SQU-Oman, NRI-Kuwait, NIT-India, SU-India, JSTU, DU-Bangladesh, etc. All the guests and speakers were very happy with our time-convenient initiatives. The honorable secretary thanked the Department of FET for organizing such a wonderful event in collaboration with BFSA.
