Dr. AKM Shahnawaz is a Professor in the Department of Archaeology, at Jahangirnagar University. He was born on February 16, 1960, in Bandar Upazila of Narayanganj. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from the history department of Jahangirnagar University in 1982 and 1983 respectively. In 1985, he completed a certificate course in Persian from the Institute of Modern Languages of Dhaka University. He obtained his Ph.D. from Jadavpur University in India in 1994 with a Ford Foundation scholarship. In the seventies and eighties, he was known as a writer of rhymes and stories under the name of 'Shahnaz Kalam', but in his professional life, he focused on writing curriculum-based books for schools, colleges, and universities, and writing books and articles on art, culture, and archeology. Dr. The number of books written and edited by Shahnawaz is over fifty. He has been writing political and socio-cultural columns in various national dailies for over a century.
He obtained his Ph.D.
from Jadavpur University in India in 1994 with a Ford Foundation scholarship
